Spiritual Direction is a unique, global, and all encompassing ministry that fosters inner peace through compassionate listening. Compassionate listening is a contemplative practice that results in global peace and justice.

Peace takes practice. Peace is hard work. Peace needs a supportive community.

Life Direction Team is one such community that acknowledges you as a person of peace during the season of peace and invites you to pass the peace to those who appreciate the support of being in a global community.

In a world of conflict, where religious, cultural, political and ideological differences play a significant role, to be at peace becomes increasingly important.

For all those working to overcome the effects of violence – whether in communities, societies, nations, or even in neighbourhoods and families  - spiritual direction, the ministry of reconciliation, offers a sure guide and inspiration to peace and justice.

The German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, imprisoned and executed by the Nazis, captured the frustrations and the fears of peoples today:

"We have been silent witnesses of evil deeds.
Many storms have gone over our heads.
We have learnt the art of deception and of equivocal speech.
Experience has made us suspicious of others,
and prevented us from being open and frank.
Bitter conflicts have made us weary and even cynical.
Are we still of any use?
Will our spiritual reserves prove adequate
and our candour with ourselves
remorseless enough to enable us
 to find our way back again
 to simplicity and straightforwardness."
